Kieser latest signing for Formelaustria Young Driver Programme

The Austrian Junior Racing Academy has presented their third participant for the 2025 season, rookie Marcel Kieser

The Formelaustria Young Driver Programme, which was launched in June 2024 by HM Sports and Renauer Motorsport, trains kart talents – mainly from Austria – to become professional Formula 4 drivers in a two-year programme.

Formula 1 legends Riccardo Patrese, David Coulthard and Alex Wurz, among others, are ambassadors of the programme and make their know-how available as part of it.

After the Tyrolean Simon Schranz, who made his debut in the Central European Formula 4 this year after a seven-month training course, and the local Rotax Kart Champion of 2023, Alexander Scheiblecker, the programme has now introduced Marcel Kieser, the third of four participants for the 2025 racing season. Kieser won the junior national championship title in the ROK CUP Austria this year.

The Lower Austrian kart talent impressed at the Formula 4 scouting test at the Slovakiaring and an agreement was reached to work together. “Marcel did a great job in the first test, was very composed for his young age and was able to implement our input immediately on the track,” said Track Director Florian Renauer.

While Schranz will initially compete in the Formula Winter Series in Spain in 2025 and then in the FIA F4 CEZ Championship, Scheiblecker and Kieser will complete extensive test drives and simulator work and later compete in club sport races. “In addition, we will also train them off the track through media training and technical programs,” explains Program Director Harry Miltner.
