Canadian Hady Mimassi has signed with the Formelaustria Young Driver Programme for the 2025 racing season. Austria’s first official young driver academy will support the 16-year-old in competing with Renauer Motorsport in the F4 Central European Zone Championship.
“After extending the contract with Austrian talent Simon Schranz, we were looking for an F4-proven driver and Hady fits our profile perfectly, so we are delighted to have him on board,” said program director Harry Miltner.
Until the end of 2023, Mimassi successfully drove karts in his second home of Great Britain and made his Formula racing debut in Indian Formula 4 last season. Without any knowledge of the race tracks and the Mygale F4 car, the Cheltenham-based rookie took two podiums in his first two official race weekends in an F4 car.
“After the two weekends in India, I wanted to drive a full season in F4 in 2025. Thanks to the support of my partner Rally Replay, I am excited to start this year with Formelaustria and Renauer in the F4 CEZ Championship. The series is strong and the tracks are cool, so I’m excited to get started,” beamed Mimassi.
Founded in June 2024 and supported by F1 legends Riccardo Patrese, David Coulthard and Alex Wurz, the Formelaustria Young Driver Programme is a springboard for young racing talents who dream of getting into F1.
Drivers with a karting or sim racing background will be trained both on and off the track in state-of-the-art Tatuus Formula 4 cars at the Pannoniaring, 120 kilometres southeast of Vienna, but will also enjoy benefits such as fitness training, mental preparation and media coaching by former F1 experts.
The FIA F4 CEZ Championship will begin on April 11-13 with the opening round at the infamous Red Bull Ring.
