Following a double-DNF in the first race, the Formelaustria Young Drivers let podiums follow at the F4 Central European Zone season opener at the Red Bull Ring

Race one of the new season ended in disaster for Renauer Motorsport drivers Simon Schranz and Hady Mimassi, when the Canadian overshot Turn 1 and in his attempt to come back to the racing line, crashed into Schranz, who was at the same time forced to make a sudden jump to the left avoiding a collision with the broken, sliding car of Mathilda Paatz.
While Mimassi could walk away from the accident unharmed, Schranz injured his left wrist and was out for the remainder of the weekend. The Austrian will undergo MRI examination during the week and is hopefully back for round 2 of the championship.
Overcoming the shock moment, Mimassi came back strong on the following day earning his inaugural rookie podium finishing on P3 in the category. He topped this result by winning the class in the final third run of the weekend. Unfortunately, the 16-year-old received a ten-second penalty for Safety Car infringement several hours after the race.
Regardless, Mimassi, who had never raced in Spielberg before, proved disposing of great race pace and that he has rightly received a spot in the Austrian junior driver academy for the 2025 season!
Round 2 of the F4 CEZ Championship will again be hosted by Red Bull Ring on May 17-18.
