Mimassi impresses with quick evolution

Formelaustria Young Driver Hady Mimassi scored a double podium at Slovakiaring to move up in the F4 CEZ overall standings

The Formula 4 Central Europe weekend in Slovakia turned out to be Mimassi’s strongest display in this year’s championship campaign. The 16-year-old started the weekend with a third-place-finish in the opening race.

In the second run, Mimassi took the early lead and controlled the field for most of the race, until he had to former karting world champion and F4 veteran Kyril Kutskov let go by in the dying minutes. Regardless, P2 marked the Canadian’s best career finish.

Mimassi was on his way to another great result in the final outing, when he collided with Mathilda Paatz in a wheel-to-wheel battle. A necessary pitstop for repairs dropped him to rock bottom, but the Renauer Motorsport driver fought his way back through the field in the remaining laps to cross the line in P6.

“We are highly impressed by Hady’s development this season. His talent has always been obvious, but thanks to working together closely and immaculately with our team boss, Sepp Renauer, he has made enormous progress,” Formelaustria Young Driver Programme director Harry Miltner said.

“Hady is now in the Top 4 of the championship and it would be a perfect ending to his rookie campaign, if could move up to P3 at the season finale in Brno,” Miltner added.

The 2025 F4 CEZ campaign closes out with the race weekend at the Autodrom Brno on September 6 & 7.
