Alexander Scheiblecker gave an absolute showcase of talent at his Formula 1 debut at the Pannoniaring
The 15-year-old Lower Austrian Alexander Scheiblecker completed a full day of testing at Renauer Motorsport at the Pannoniaring, including a test race in one of the brand new Tatuus T-421 Formula 4 cars, and was able to make a good impression.
Scheiblecker found his way around the world’s most modern junior formula car right from the start, improved his lap times continuously, and took second place in the race straight away.
“I’m totally happy. It was great fun and I would like to thank my parents, but also the Renauer Motorsport and Formelaustria, for this opportunity,” Scheiblecker said, who only started karting just over two years ago. The Groisbach native was actually an ice hockey crack, most recently playing in the U14 state league for the Danube Islanders.
Team boss Sepp Renauer was also impressed with the talented Technical college student: “Alexander did very well. You could see how he was able to gain more confidence in the car and himself lap after lap, and gradually improved his lap times. The potential is clearly there.”
In only his second season, Scheiblecker raced into the top 5 of the Austrian kart championship and is also fighting in the top field at the 2022 European Championship. Now he has tried his hand at a formula racing car for the first time and is keen for more.
“We are already in discussions with the team about how the program should continue,” said the teenager.
